Cagnano Varano is part of the National Park of Gargano. The Gargano National Park covers an area of about 120 thousand hectares, which mix a great quantity of unique natural habitats. In fact, Cagnano Varano, rises on a spur of the Gargano between century old woods and a crystalline sea, positioned on a calcareous rock rich of caves and caverns.
There is a part of the landscape that is hidden in the light of the sun: the underground cavities.
These caves are characterised by a landscape mostly mineral, in the dark more absolute and relative next to the saturation. An example is the cave of San Michele Arcangelo.
